Barboza 46 years
Victor Emiro Barboza Inciarte, once a highly successful professional in his native Venezuela—so much so that he became the national leader in wins among trainers in the country at the young age of 23, an achievement reached in 2001. However, compelled by the deteriorating quality of life in Venezuela, he decided to broaden his horizons and settle in the United States. He established himself in Miami, at Gulfstream Park, and eight years later, he secured his 500th victory.
«I am a person who thrives on challenges, always pursuing objectives. I started very young at 19, with just nine horses at Santa Rita (Maracaibo, Venezuela). Within three years, I was already competing with Juan Andrés Rodríguez for the statistics. My start in Miami was with two horses in 2015, with friends as owners, and to date, I have secured four titles. When you look back, it’s incredible what has been achieved. I thank my family, who is always a source of inspiration, the owners, and all my friends,» says Barboza, who is currently 46 years old and is steadily advancing toward his first season with at least a hundred victories.
Barboza reached this milestone with Gran Rock in a $6,250 Claiming race, guided by Miguel Vasquez and owned by GranPollo Stable, owned by fellow Venezuelan David Geofroy, who has supported him practically since the beginning of this phase.
The trainer from Zulia has achieved victories in Grade Stakes with horses like Petulante, a winner at Monmouth Park, New Jersey, and Churchill Downs in Kentucky. He was also instrumental in Distinta and Rich Mommy’s victory at Gulfstream Park.

Víctor Barboza llegó a las 500 victorias en Estados Unidos
Victor Emiro Barboza Inciarte, quien fue un profesional de acelerado éxito en su natal Venezuela, a tal punto ser el líder nacional en victorias entre los entrenadores de su país, con solo 23 años de edad, logro alcanzado en 2001. Sin embargo, obligado por el deterioro de la calidad de vida en Venezuela, decidió abrir su horizonte e instalarse en Estados Unidos, donde se estableció en Miami, en Gulsftream Park, y ocho años después, concretó su victoria 500.
“Soy una persona de retos. Siempre persiguiendo los objetivos. Comencé muy joven, a los 19 años, con apenas nueve caballos en Santa Rita(Maracaibo, Venezuela) y a los tres años ya le estaba disputando la estadística a Juan Andrés Rodríguez. Mi comienzo en Miami fueron con dos caballos en 2015, con propietarios amigos y a la fecha ya he conseguido cuatro títulos. Cuando se mira hacia atrás, resulta increíble todo lo que se ha conseguido. Agradezco a mi familia que siempre es una fuente de inspiración, a los propietarios y toda la gente amiga”, dice quien actualmente cuenta con 46 años de edad y que avanza imparable a su primera temporada con al menos un centenar de victorias.
Barboza llegó a la cifra en con Gran Rock, en un Claiming por valor de 6,250 dólares, de la mano de Miguel Vasquez y con el Stud GranPollo Stable del también venezolano David Geofroy, quien le brindó su apoyo prácticamente desde su inicio en esta etapa.
El trainer zuliano ha concretado triunfos en Stakes de Grado con caballos de la talla de Petulante, vencedor en Momouth Park, New Jersey y Churchill Downs en Kentucky. También fue el artífice en la victoria de Distinta y Rich Mommy, en Gulsftream Park.
